About Us
My name is Bill Eidenmuller, founder of Amateur Genius, and I am a chronic idea man.
I bet half the sentences that come out of my mouth begin with "Wouldn't it be cool if..." or "I think it would be better if...".
But I have to admit that, to date, most of my world shaking ideas have not yet come to fruition.
From my ideas of a self plowing driveway to a coffee maker that both grinds and brews the coffee (yes I know this now exists, I own one)
to a new approach on water purification in developing areas of third world countries. Something has always slowed my progress long enough
for either frustration to take hold or for someone else to come to market with a similar idea.
So I decided to start Amateur Genius as a place to help other inventors, designers and general innovators like me. A place where you can get help developing your ideas and to help others as well.
A community of everday people with everyday ideas that, with a little help, may just end up changing the way we live.
I invite you to look around, learn, teach and share your ideas. And always remember that at one point in every person of great accomplishment's life they were
considered crazy or, at the very least, an amateur.
