Mark Junell's How to Build a Poker Table

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

I was shown this tutorial on how to build a poker table by a friend at work while he was trying to convince me to build him one. I have since agreed to build one (which will definitely find its way on to this web site). But of all the do-it-yourself poker table plans I have seen this is the closest to how I would build one. The only things I would change would be to cut down the size of the poker table by just a few inches in both length and width. By making that tiny adjustment you could avoid having to purchase an additional sheet of plywood. Another thing I would change is I would probably switch the wooden racetrack to be a piece of furniture grade birch or maple rather than pine. Anyway the poker table turned out very nicely with materials he used and I plan on making one (maybe several since the people just seem to be lining up) in the very near future. http://www.junell.cc/pokertable/ General Information Another thing I might change is the legs. If I had a permanent place for the table I would opt for some nice wooden legs or a wooden pedestal base.
